Description Robert Half currently has a vacancy for a permanent Senior Accountant to bring their leadership skills and experience to a growing finance team in the JAMAICA, New York area. As a Senior Accountant, your duties will include financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Provide assistance in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external
Dedication to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Perform monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP
Administer Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Analyze financial information and report on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)
Prepare Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Allocate and prepare monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis reports for management
Successfully collaborate with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures, controls and provide support on special requests when necessary
Partake in various department-wide initiatives Requirements - Skilled with ERP systems
Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills
3+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
General familiarity with accruals
Account reconciliation experience required
Strong familiarity with Accounting close process
Well-founded grasp of Accounts Receivable (AR)
Accounting Entries experience preferred
Proven knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)
Comprehensive knowledge of account analysis
Accounting procedures experience
SOX internal control assessments (Section 404) experience
Detailed and have the ability work independently
Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
Prior work done in public accounting is desired
Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must have excellent time management skills
Proficiency with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
