Our division is comprised of leading student affairs experts who support our campus on pressing student life matters including public service, health, wellness, social justice, residential living, food services, sports, recreation, career services, and student activities and organizations including sorority and fraternity life. We provide support and services to roughly 25,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students on multiple campuses in the U.S. and abroad.The OpportunityAs an HR Talent Sourcing, Onboarding, and Employee Engagement Lead, you will be a critical part of our team, responsible for strategic recruitment and coordinated onboarding of staff hires within SCL. This role is designed to lead, organize, and deliver results tied to talent management and recruitment priorities, with a strong focus on influencing our workplace culture and climate.Key Responsibilities:Talent Management: Lead and organize talent management and recruitment efforts to attract top talent to our Division.Community Partnerships: Establish and nurture partnerships with local educational institutions, community centers, and non-profits to become a sought-after employer in our region, supporting recruitment in priority hiring areas.Onboarding: Collaborate with hiring managers to create customized onboarding programs for new hires, including check-ins during their initial 90 days.Inclusion and Belonging: Support a culture of inclusion and belonging for all employees, monitor retention and staff engagement metrics, and recommend improvements.Professional Development: Assist employees in seeking skill enhancement and professional development opportunities, connecting them to available resources within the Division and the university.Success Factors:Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality customer service to build and maintain relationships at all levels of the organization.Proactive Approach: Be proactive in anticipating the needs of the team and customers, providing critical observations and recommendations.Adaptability: Work effectively in a rapidly changing environment, adapting to shifting priorities, managing multiple deadlines and projects, and paying close attention to details and accuracy.Independence: Make sound decisions independently and contribute to a successful, team-oriented work environment that upholds ethical workplace practicesThis is a full-time (40hours/week) endowed position that is based in Ithaca, NY. This position follows a 3:2 campus-to-home hybrid work schedule with the in-office days being Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Work hours are flexible. What We NeedWe are looking for a team member who is a strategic thinker, is willing to network in the community, and is eager to learn. Additionally, you will:Hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with 2 years related experience as a human resource generalist with strong focus on process improvements or combined equivalent of education and experience.Have a fundamental understanding of Human Resource work and expertise in at least three of the following areas: recruitment, employee and labor relations, compensation, payroll, HR information systems, training & development, classification, and/or benefits).Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude, strong interpersonal skills and the aptitude to build trust/maintain relationships with diverse audiences at all levels of the organization.Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.Leverage solid execution skills with proven skills in managing multiple conflicting deadlines in a proactive, solution-oriented manner.
