Bowers College of Computingand Information Science (CIS) has tenure track and tenured faculty positions available. The ISDepartment spans Cornell's Ithaca and New York City campuses where nearly 40 faculty members areleaders in their respective fields within Information Science's interdisciplinary structure.While we are interested in applications from researchers in any of the broad research areas of thedepartment (see https://infosci.cornell.edu/research), this year we will focus on hiring candidateswhose research engages with ethical, legal, or policy issues in the context of computing systems,including those involving artificial intelligence, robotics or underserved communities. Additionally,we seek to hire candidates in any area who can contribute to advancing the department'scommitment to diversity and inclusion.Faculty hired for this Ithaca campus search will have their teaching and research-based in Ithaca. The ISfaculty are located in Cornell's Gates Hall and the department has strong connections with several otherunits on campus, including Computer Science (also in Gates Hall), Communication, Economics, Sociology,Science and Technology Studies, Operations Research and Information Engineering, Cognitive Science,and the Law School. These connections support the IS department's mission to advance itsunderstanding of how people and society interact with computing and information.The department also strives to offer a high quality of life, providing a collegial and supportiveatmosphere on campus.
