This Assistant Controller role reports to the Controller and manages the accounting staff. Develop relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like the monthly flash report, actual spend against budgets/outlook, and key financial metrics
Backfill for Controller if necessary
Compose diverse procedures, policies, and technical accounting analyses
Confirm regular account reconciliation to completion
Dissect and generate Ad Hoc financial reports
Advance to ensure a competent, trained staff through development, goal setting, and regular assessment
Steer the accounting team during the closing process to warrant deadlines are met
Approve implementation and verify adherence to accounting policies and procedures
Aid with the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including budgeting and forecasting
Perform other duties when necessary
Discern and establish process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency
Enhanced preparation and coordination of fiscal year-end audits
Foster accountability and the meeting of deliverables Requirements - Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired
Strong analytical capabilities and discernment
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
CPA certification a plus
Practical knowledge of Billing Functions
General familiarity with Accounting Guidance
Knowledge of Balance Sheet Reconciliation
Adeptness in billing
Deep understanding of Bank Account Reconciliation
Accruals experience highly valued
Foundational knowledge in Bank Balances
Demonstrated knowledge of Accounting Entries
Account Resolution experience highly desired
Good understanding of Accounts Receivable (AR)
Demonstrated knowledge of Bill Payment
Knowledge of Account Balance
Prior experience with AIA Documents
Annual Close Processes experience preferred
Comprehensive knowledge of account analysis
Experience with Ad Hoc Reporting
Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation experience desired
Background working with Accounting Principles
Earlier work involving Accounts Payable (AP)
Proficiency in Account Coding
General familiarity with Billing Collection
Comprehension of Ad Hoc Analysis
Adeptness in Accounting close process
Accounting operations experience highly preferred
Hands-on experience with AIA Billing
Account Discrepancies experience preferred
Practical knowledge of Accounting management
Bank reconciliations experience highly desired
Previous experience working with Accrual Accounting
Prior accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred
5+ years of general ledger accounting experience
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and IIA standards
Thorough knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
