Actively Hiring a Medical Assistant in Fishkill, NY!Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for performing vital sign documentation, preparing patients and rooms for exams and procedures, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment. The role involves supporting the physician’s practice by organizing and performing patient care services, assisting physicians with procedures, and relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person.Responsibilities

Prepare patients for examination/procedures.

Assist physicians with procedures.

Collect patient data in person and by phone and document patient concerns.

Relay instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person.

Administer medications specifically directed by the physician.

Complete and accurate message taking, routing messages to the appropriate area for direction.

Order and referral entry, setting up of cases in EMR system, and updating of demographics.

Assist physician/nurse practitioner with exams and procedures.

Accurately document medical information in patient records.

Track and route test results to physician(s)/nurse practitioner(s) for review.

Communicate test results with patients when deemed appropriate by physician/nurse practitioner.

Facilitate patient care activities including scheduling ancillary tests, reinforcing patient education, and performing triage as appropriate.

Maintain adequate inventory of medical, office, and pharmaceutical supplies.

Perform basic computer skills in using the electronic health record proficiently.

Process orders appropriately.

Essential Skills

1-2+ years of Medical Assistant experience.

Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

Strong knowledge of medical assisting practices.

Ability to document patient demographics and patient information accurately.

Excellent communication skills for relaying instructions and communicating test results.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Medical Assisting certification is a plus.

Experience in a rheumatology setting is preferred.

Work EnvironmentThis position offers two openings with firm hours. The first opening is Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM. The second opening is Monday, Tuesday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Wednesday, Thursday 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM, and Friday 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM. The role is based in Fishkill and involves working in a rheumatology setting.
