COMPANY DESCRIPTION

Oliver’s is a locals’ eatery in Mount Tremper, NY. Our small but mighty team serves up a frequently–rotating tavern menu that aims to re-invent food traditions that celebrate the simple pleasures of gathering with friends and family. The tavern has a British pub-inspired atmosphere, welcoming neighbors and visitors for casual, affordable, and deliciously-inventive drinks and meals.

In advance of our outdoor dining for the summer season and the re-opening of our long-anticipated fireplace lounge and dining room, we are expanding our kitchen team. We’re looking for a range of experience levels to fill a mix of the following positions:

Sous Chef, Line Cook, Prep Cook/Dishwasher

JOB DESCRIPTION

Sous Chef:

This position will build on the much-complimented opening menu of Oliver’s with seasonally-rotating dishes that celebrate comfort food with fresh and inspired takes on the classics. We are looking for individuals who thrive in collaborative environments, take pleasure from supporting and lifting up their team in the kitchen, and hold a sense of responsibility for the success of the restaurant.

Responsibilities:

- Execute an innovative tavern menu, rotating specials, and weekly weekend ‘dinner series’

- Execute food prep, with a specific focus on consistency and quality

- Monitor inventory levels to support the chef’s weekly orders and smooth running of the line

- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, taking ownership of the back of house team with guidance from our head chef

Qualifications:

- Prior experience as a sous chef or line cook

- Strong organizational skills

- Enjoys working hard and seeing results

- Reliable

- Creative and motivated to try new things

- Enjoys collaboration

Line Cook:

As our line cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking dishes according to the chef’s recipes, while maintaining a clean and organized work station. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, as the role offers excellent potential for advancement and independence when ready. The ideal candidate believes that no task is too big or too small. Previous experience as a line cook or similar role required. Reliability and flexibility are a must.

Prep Cook/Dishwasher:

As our prep cook and dishwasher, you will assist in the preparation of ingredients for daily service and maintain cleanliness of the kitchen. We would love to find a self-starter who is eager for an entry-level position in the kitchen. Attention to detail and collaborative work ethic are essential. Reliability and flexibility are a must.

COMPENSATION

Varies BOE and role:

$20-$28/hr
