Senior Accountant

This role involves preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing accurate and timely financial information to support strategic decision-making.Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial reports in accordance with GAAP or relevant accounting standards.

Coordinate with external auditors during audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

General Ledger Management:

Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts and ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions.

Perform monthly and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations and adjustments.

Account Reconciliation:

Reconcile bank statements, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other balance sheet accounts.

Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

Financial Analysis:

Analyze financial data and trends to identify variances and provide insights for financial planning and forecasting.

Prepare ad-hoc reports and analyses as requested by management.

Process Improvement:

Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and internal controls.

Assist in the development and documentation of accounting policies and procedures.

Compliance and Controls:

Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies to mitigate financial risk.

Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Team Leadership:

Mentor and provide guidance to junior accountants and support staff.

Assist in the training and development of accounting team members.

Project Support:

Participate in special projects and initiatives as needed.

Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with various levels of management and staff.
