If you a carpenter or have experience in wood assembly and are ready to apply your skills in a new way, this is an exciting opportunity to work for the area's top art shipper. The goal is to prepare artwork for shipping by building custom pallets and crates and custom cardboard boxes.
Helpful Background:
General Construction knowledge with experience using pneumatic staple & nail guns, tape measure in US Standard and metric measurement.
Teamwork, good communication, and attention to detail
Job Requirements/Duties:
Use a measuring tape to obtain dimensions for wooden crates and custom art boxes.
Cut wood to specifications using the miter saw and/or table saw.
Assemble box using cut wood, nail gun, and/or power drill.
Insert the assembled product into a wooden crate and secure the product using wood and banding.
Inspect the box to ensure the product is secure before sending it to shipping.
Read, understand, and communicate paperwork work and labels.
Attach appropriate labels and tags to packages.
Ability to read and interpret basic mathematical measurements and effectively use a tape measure.
Safely operate power tools such as nail guns and table saws.
Notify the lead person or supervisor of any mechanical or material issues.
Maintain a safe and clean work area.
