Jackalope has operated in New Mexico for more than 48 years. We are a retail store that sells home & garden decor. Our pottery and fountains collections are our biggest category. Part-time applicants will be considered (but must be willing to work weekends; limited benefits). While this position is mostly outdoors, during the winter, the position is indoor and outdoor (shared coverage with other employees).
Job Responsibilities & Duties
Welcoming and engaging with customers as they enter the pottery yard/s
Assessing customers’ needs and suggesting merchandise
Setting up and displaying pottery groupings
Assisting with merchandising, tagging, and reordering
Working with cashiers to ensure smooth completion of sales
Assisting customers to their vehicles to load all purchases (not just pottery)
Assisting with loading and unloading deliveries of pottery, nursery and other departments
Cleaning and restocking the pottery yard throughout the day
Once familiar with the position and our merchandise:
Diligently working to increase sales
Giving customers advice about merchandise, sales and promotions
Using upselling techniques to increase store sales
All other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Must be able to stand on your feet most of the day
Must be able to routinely and repeatedly lift and carry 30-50 lbs.
Must be able to routinely and repeatedly push and move up to 75 lbs.
Must be comfortable outside in the summer and winter (most of the day)
Must be a team player and able to take direction well
Must be able to show up on time and when scheduled
Must be able to work Weekends
Fork lift certification a plus
Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
