Design Sales and Warehouse Associate

Our Design Sales & Warehouse Associates are an integral part of our team. In the showroom, they are responsible for assisting clients with their project needs and ensuring they have an exceptional customer experience. In the warehouse, they are responsible for all incoming and outgoing orders while maintaining a safe environment and loading/unloading customer orders.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision, be bilingual in Spanish and English, capable of working retail hours including Saturdays, and able to lift up to 50 lbs. If you have a background in retail sales within a professional environment (particularly in the stone, tile, slab and cabinet industries) and aspire to grow into a Sales Manager or Warehouse Manager position, we want to hear from you!

Duties:

Greet and assist clients with their projects throughout every phase of the sale, including answering questions, making product suggestions and assisting with selection, and post-sale follow-up.

Answer the telephone in a professional and timely manner, direct calls as needed, and answer questions.

Maintain customers up-to-date on their order and project status.

Handle sample check-out and check-in, project consultation scheduling, order taking and processing, follow-up on special orders and/or backorders, and special-order pickup scheduling.

Receive new products and special orders, verify against packing slips and purchase orders, inspect for breakage or discrepancies, and follow through as needed to resolve any issues.

Assist customers with unloading and loading orders from their vehicles.

Meet monthly sales quotas.

Ensure all showroom products are labeled, order new showroom samples from vendors as needed, and label new product arrivals.

Maintain a clean and organized showroom, warehouse, and comply with safety guidelines.

Inspect forklift and other warehouse equipment and notify the manager of any issues.

Expand knowledge of the cabinetry, flooring, and natural stone industry, key vendors, and newest industry trends.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

High school degree.

2+ years of retail sales experience. Tile, stone, slab yard and/or cabinet experience is a huge plus.

An eye for design and an understanding of color.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills and experience working with clients with different personalities with patience and respect.

Self-starter with a positive, can-do attitude, and ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to work retail hours from Monday through Saturday.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Excellent organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

College or trade school degree in interior design, architecture, or construction.

Prior experience selling tile, hardwood, and natural stone tile and slabs.

Good with numbers and the ability to determine square footage needed from a drawing.

Computer skills with a thorough understanding of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

Ability to drive a forklift.

Slab estimation experience a huge plus.

Cabinet design and 2020 drawing.
