What You Will DoLos Alamos National Laboratory is looking for Undergraduate student candidates to join the Utilities & Infrastructure Division for the 2024 summer. (Senior-level candidates that will graduate in May 2024 are welcome to apply and internships may extend beyond the summertime.) We are seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic early-career employees with strong problem-solving, communication, and team-building skills. The Utilities & Infrastructure (UI) Division is responsible for maintaining and operating all the Laboratory's utility systems including electric, gas, sewer, steam, and water. In addition, UI maintains and manages all the open space on site, including roads and grounds, as well as the Laboratory's Sustainability and Transportation Programs. The selected candidates will work within the UI Division as an Operations Support Specialist and will assist the Project Managers and Operations team in developing, coordinating, and ensuring successful execution of operations and projects. The selected candidates will report to the Operations Support & Improvement (OSI) Group Leader within the Division. This position will work to ensure the UI projects and operations are effectively executed to support DOE's national security, science, energy, and environmental management mission.What You NeedMinimum Job Requirements:

Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program pursuing one of the following degrees: construction science, construction management, project management, and will also consider applicants enrolled in an accredited engineering degree program with project management experience or completed project management coursework.

Enrolled in and successfully complete a minimum of 12 undergraduate credit hours per semester (or equivalent of full-time enrollment).

Have and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on 4.0 scale. Note: Students must provide the program coordinator with current, official transcripts annually to remain eligible. See the Annual Transcript & Salary Review Process section for additional information.

Pass a new employment drug test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.

Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM.
