What You Will DoThe Maintenance Support Specialist will provide direct and critical support to the Institutional Facilities Division and Operations by exerting ownership for integration of maintenance functions including planning, procurement, scheduling, execution, and closeout activities. Core responsibilities will include implementation and/or administrative control of a variety of maintenance programs/policies and will be expected to work closely and collaboratively with various stakeholders, including Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, Safety, and Subcontract personnel.The successful candidate will:

Provide input into detailed schedule development for the planning and execution of all tasks for the assigned workweek, ensuring barriers to execution are eliminated prior to scheduling.

Work independently to provide guidance to all department planners, schedulers, work execution groups, operations support groups, and other support personnel for accurate schedules, performance of work execution and close-out of work.

Track and maintain status of prioritized service requests and work execution schedules, providing regular reports to Operations and Maintenance Managers.

Create and implement methodologies for execution of prioritized work, ensuring the right work is done in the right time frame.

Participate in the Plan-of-the-Day, providing status reports and capturing work performance data.

Effectively manage priority emergent work to assigned workweeks, and coordinate rescheduling of impacted jobs.

Ensure daily open communication with team to ensure compliance, productivity, and effectiveness.

Serve as member of Integrated Project Teams (IPT) for assigned project efforts covering initiation, coordination, execution, commissioning, turnover, and closeout activities.

Provide guidance to all department planners, schedulers, work execution groups, operations support groups, and other support personnel, regarding the development of effective work documents, accurate schedules, performance of work execution, and close out of work.

Coordinate across multiple organizations to ensure work is planned and executed according to assigned priority.

Evaluate scheduling execution performance data (metrics) and help improve efficiency where needed. Incorporate an effective feedback loop that promotes and ensures continual process improvement.

Ensures daily open communication with support groups to ensure compliance, availability, productivity, and effectiveness.

What You NeedMinimum Job Requirements:Business Processes & Systems: Basic knowledge of and experience with performance assurance metrics. Basic knowledge of and experience with policy and strategy performance assurance, including policy and procedure development, implementation, and enforcement. Basic knowledge of quality assurance policies, practices, and procedures.Communication: Experience and demonstrated skill in conducting research, investigating alternative solutions, and recommending solutions on problems affecting facility maintenance and performance assurance. Skill to conceptualize and communicate major elements of processes supporting the maintenance program to both technical and non-technical personnel.Maintenance Operations: Clear understanding of work hazards, safety practices policies and procedures. Basic knowledge of legal requirements and environmental impacts affecting maintenance management. Basic knowledge of maintenance program systems.Technology: Full knowledge of and experience with document control and records management. Skill in the preparation and presentation of reports.Desired Qualifications:

Substantiated and direct experience performing work using any computerized LANL facility management tools that may include Footprints, Asset Suite, EDRMS, TEAMS, etc.

Substantiated and direct experience with Institutional Facility operations and processes.

Direct experience or strong understanding of the Work Window Process.

Professional knowledge of Integrated Work Management principles.

Prior experience in T-Week scheduling coordination.

Education/Experience: Position requires a minimum of 2 years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.
