Description We are in search of a competent Business Analyst to be a part of our team situated in Connecticut. The individual will be tasked with the role of developing complex interconnected spreadsheets or databases to automate labor costing for various scenarios. This position offers a short-term contract employment opportunity. Responsibilities: Utilize mathematical skills to determine and implement cost accounting procedures and methods. Provide comprehensive cost analysis results to assist management in decision making. Contribute to the preparation and analysis of cost reports and conducting costing audits. Examine and review unusual cost records and ensure cost data is allocated correctly. Perform variance analysis between actual and standard costs. Monitor, analyze, and report on inventory valuation, production, and various other costs. Generate insightful reports by analyzing costs and resources, identifying existing trends, and monitoring changes over time. Utilize Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access expertise to build out large complex interconnected spreadsheets or databases for automation. Employ experience with compensation administration and labor relations. Ensure adherence to all procedures and methods related to cost accounting and costing. Requirements Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced features and functionalities Familiarity with 'About Time' software and other relevant monitoring tools Knowledge of database management and auditing processes Experience in production environments and the ability to perform ad hoc financial tasks Expertise in using spreadsheets for data management and automation Understanding and application of various business methods and procedures Experience in compensation administration, variance analysis, and cost analysis Ability to make informed decisions based on data and analysis Knowledge of cost accounting and costing principles Experience in labor relations and standard costs evaluation Understanding of inventory valuation and quality assurance management Ability to work locally without any need for relocation assistance Strong decision-making skills and the ability to contribute to strategic planning Experience in submission of reports, plans, and projections to senior management.
