Moriarty sod and hay farm currently hiring for general farm labor positions.
Workers will perform various activities associated with the growing and harvesting of grass/sod and alfalfa hay at a commercial turf grass and hay farm.
Job Description and Requirements:
Cuts, rolls and stacks sod by hand.
Weeds, water, sows grass seed.
Hand stacking of sod on wooden pallets.
Prepares soil, hauls and spreads topsoil, fertilizer, and other materials.
Digs, rakes, screens soil.
Fills tanks with water.
Operates mowers and sod cutters.
May drive the sod harvesting/cutting machine.
Load and unload sod on harvester, and into trucks/vehicles.
Loading of trucks by lifting 75 pounds to a height of 5 feet or more repetitively. Must be able to lift 75 lbs. to shoulder height repetitively throughout the workday and able to lift and carry 75 lbs. in field.
Fueling of irrigation equipment along with light maintenance on farm equipment.
General maintenance around the farm.
Prolonged walking, standing, bending, stooping, and reaching.
Must be 18 years old.
Starting at $20.00 per hour.
