Learn more about Sandia at: http://www.sandia.govThese benefits vary by job classification.What Your Job Will Be Like:Sandia National Laboratories is seeking a proactive and team-oriented Information Security Specialist (Limited Term Employee) to be a member of the Information Security team whose primary function is the protection of Sandia’s critical and classified information.On any given day, you may be called on to:

Analyze and interpret an extensive set of federal requirements for protection and control of classified and sensitive information.

Develop programmatic plans, policies, procedures, forms, and briefing materials.

Gather data and conduct program data analysis.

Conduct trainings to instruct and brief both small and large audiences.

Perform assessments to monitor compliance with Sandia and DOE requirements.

Team closely with entities throughout Sandia, remote sites, and the DOE complex.

Use project management and Lean Six Sigma tools to analyze, improve processes and support management with special studies/projects.

Collaborate with different customers, team members, and various levels of management and DOE oversight; provide site-assist visits for Members of the Workforce.

Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite 100%.Qualifications We Require:

Bachelor's degree in relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience (Master’s degree in a relevant field; an Associates degree plus 4 years of relevant experience; or a HS Diploma plus 8 years of relevant experience).

Experience in information security and/or experience working with classified information.

Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOE Q-level security clearance.

Qualifications We Desire:

Master's degree in relevant field.

Familiarity with Safeguards and Security (S&S) programs.

Ability to exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for achieving results (e.g. strategy planning, decision-making models).

Project management experienced (plan, implement, and complete multiple programs and projects).

Technical writing skills with a focus in the development and implementation of operating policies, processes and procedures that convey critical information to a diverse audience.

Proven ability to work independently on multiple concurrent activities to meet a variety of customer requirements with changing priorities and due dates.

Experience working with minimal direction, in a team-focused environment while exercising discretion and maintaining confidentiality of information.

Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal).

About Our Team:The Information Security Department is part of Sandia’s Safeguards and Security Center, whose primary function is the protection of Sandia’s critical and classified information. We support Sandia’s mission by coordinating and implementing requirements for Classified Matter Protection and Control (CMPC) (to include training and assessments) and Classified Mail Channels.Posting Duration:This posting will be open for application submissions for a minimum of seven (7) calendar days, including the ‘posting date’.
