Staff Accountant
4 month temp-to-hire position
GENERAL SUMMARY
This position is responsible for providing General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and technical accounting support to the Controller to ensure financial reporting integrity. The position works directly with the Controller to ensure the monthly, quarterly and annual closes are accurate and timely.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform journal entries
Manage and enter vendor invoices into accounts payable system
Financially close work orders and sales orders
Manage and enter customer payments into accounting system
Preparation of monthly journal entries related to service/MRO activities
Reconcile banks statements in accounting system
Assist Controller with special projects as needed
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Required:
5+ years relevant accounting experience
Demonstrated knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Demonstrated ability to prepare concise summaries of complex financial issues
Working knowledge of Excel
Cross-functional experience, comfortable working with operations (production, supply chain, engineering, etc.)
Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data, identify risks and opportunities, develop creative solutions, effectively communicate recommendations and initiate corrective action
Preferred:
Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
Familiarity with aerospace or similar production environment
Familiarity with a variety of contract types, including inter-company business
SAP software experience
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This is an individual contributor role without supervisory responsibilities.
WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work primarily performed in an office. May have some exposure to noise from aircraft and machinery in a warehouse or hangar environment. Light physical demands associated with an office work environment.
Anticipated Pay: $30.00/hr. to $36.00/hr.
