Read more: careers.bms.com/working-with-us .Position SummaryThe Associate Director, ESG Reporting role is a crucial position within the External Reporting and Consolidation team (Controllership organization), responsible for establishing and leading the ESG reporting process. The candidate will design and implement enhanced governance mechanisms to ensure adequate oversight and control over ESG reporting and will collaborate with various stakeholders such as SEC reporting, Global Statutory reporting, and ESG Performance and Reporting teams.Key ResponsibilitiesKey responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Identify, advise on and implement new ESG reporting and disclosure practices, based on a deep understanding of requirements from regulators, investors/lenders and sustainability actors.

Draft disclosures for inclusion in our regulatory ESG reporting.

Participate in relevant governance bodies and provide strategic input to help define the future needs of ESG reporting.

Lead closing meetings with local leadership from finance, accounting, and legal teams while ensuring that ESG metrics are delivered on time, and in accordance with internal control requirements.

Work independently as an expert, with a strong external focus looking for innovation and best practices.

Align ESG reporting with the company's overall strategy and long-term goals.

Oversee the annual ESG financial data collection process, ensuring that data is timely and accurate.

Continuously improves the ESG reporting internal control environment to ensure consistent, accurate and timely ESG information as well as auditable and efficient reporting processes.

Ensures Standard Operation Procedures and other documentation supporting ESG reporting activities are in place, follow best practice and properly maintained.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 8-10 years of accounting and reporting experience, preferably with experience in ESG reporting.

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.

CPA required.

Pharmaceutical/Life Science/Biotech industry is preferred.

Demonstrated business partnering skills and strong collaboration experience (inside and outside of finance).

Strong understanding of financial reporting principles and practices, including how to integrate ESG metrics into financial statements.

Self-starter, highly motivated and able to make decisions independently.

Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to understand complex reporting requirements and business performance, and be able to articulate drivers of change in a simplified way.
