Growing Janitorial/Maintenance Company looking for a Handyman with a Black Seal License in Rutherford, NJ.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct routine inspections of common areas, amenities, and building exteriors to identify and address issues proactively including roofs and rooftop mechanical systems and reports back to supervisor/management.
Perform general maintenance and repair tasks, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry., and painting.
Painting of common areas and touch ups as may be required. Responsible to inspect areas that may need painting and advise manager
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs from residents and management.
Assist with the upkeep of the building's amenities, such as fitness centers, pools, and communal areas.
Ensure all maintenance work is performed in compliance with safety regulations.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed.
Collaborate with the building management team to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently.
Provide excellent customer service to residents, addressing their concerns and ensuring their satisfaction.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a handyman or in a similar maintenance role.
Strong knowledge of general maintenance and repair techniques, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Basic computer skills in order to process digital work orders.
Good communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
Ability to work in various positions, including standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
Comfortable working in indoor and outdoor environments, sometimes in adverse weather conditions.
