Our client, an International Banking Institution located in Rutherford, NJ is seeking a Currency/Warehouse Specialist for a one year plus contract, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. Please note that this position requires frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds and perform a team lifts up to a maximum of 100 pounds.
You will be trained in counterfeit currency verification and operating currency processing equipment. Experience highly preferred but not required.
Responsibilities:
Currency verification. Receive bulk currency deposits for automated note processing; perform prepping activities to prepare currency for processing, such as detecting notes of wrong denominations in each strap. Process each bundle received through the BPS (Banknote Processing System) which may reject currency due to possible lack of fitness or counterfeit status. Verify rejected currency through the RS (Reconciling Station), prepare unfit currency for IDA (Independent Destroy All); detect counterfeit currency; record individual bank differences resulting from such verification, as well as from the detection of deposit shortages and overages.
Physical ability to move currency containers/pallets, stand for long periods of time, and lift currency bags required. Experience in cash handling or shipping preferable.
Experience in packaging, manufacturing, or warehousing highly preferred but not required.
Experience in operations, compliance, or regulated environment (such as food, pharmaceutical packaging, or consumer goods) highly preferred.
Attention to detail, ability to identify counterfeit currency (training will be provided)
Experience with Excel, Word, comfortable with computers highly preferred
