Under QC Lead Engineer, the QC Inspector maintains the company's quality standards by approving incoming materials, In-process production, and finished products.
This job interacts both in a professional Office/QC environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing, and foot protection (as required).
Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required as job duties demand

Job Responsibilities
Approves incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting unacceptable materials
Communicate required adjustments to the Quality Lead Engineer and other critical team members
Determines products requiring re-work and returns and confirms product's status requiring re-work
Records quality inspection results by documenting in reports and logs
Inputs data into Quality's database (Lotus software)
Qualifications
High school diploma / GED
2 years' experience in a QC Inspector role with relevant experiences
Knowledge of quality measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.)
Ability to demonstrate understanding and interpretation of dimensional blueprint drawings, technical specifications, standards, and GD&T (true position, MMC/LMC, bonuses, surface profiles)
Familiar with AQL, sampling methods and traceability
Experience and ability to measure complex geometries and tight tolerances
Experience in the use of Advanced Metrology Equipment (optical / digital comparators, CMM)
Experience running a CMM program (Pc-Dmis and OpenDmis are preferred) with a high desire to learn how to create programs and routines on the automatic CMM (this is a plus, but not required)
Proven experience with managing multiple deadlines with competing customer priorities
Ability to communicate in English (written and verbal) relevant and important information urgent and effectively to all levels within the organization
