Job Description:

As the Head Chef at Blue Hippo Coffee Co., you will be responsible for leading our kitchen team in delivering exceptional culinary experiences to our guests. From innovative brunch dishes to comforting classics, you will oversee the creation and execution of our menu while maintaining the highest standards of quality and consistency. Your passion for food and dedication to excellence will drive our cafe's success and reputation as a culinary destination.

Responsibilities:

Develop and execute creative, seasonal menus that showcase fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, including line cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

Manage inventory, order supplies, and control food costs to maximize profitability.

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.

Monitor food quality and presentation, making adjustments as needed to meet or exceed guest expectations.

Collaborate with management to plan and execute special events, promotions, and catering orders.

Stay current with industry trends and culinary techniques, continually seeking opportunities for innovation and improvement.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef in a cafe, restaurant, or similar culinary environment.

Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.

Creative flair and passion for food, with a keen eye for detail and presentation.

Solid understanding of kitchen operations, including menu development, food costing, and inventory management.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure gracefully.

Culinary degree or certification preferred, but not required.
