Full Charge Bookkeeper for Accounting Firm

Accounting firm with over 400 clients looking for an experienced Full-Charge Bookkeeper to oversee small team of bookkeepers and maintain accounting records for multiple clients and companies.

The job responsibilities include working closely with our clients to manage their accounting needs and supervise bookkeeping staff. Must be proficient in QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, Office 365, Excel, Word, Outlook, and QuickBooks Payroll.

Responsibilities:

Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process

Enter data, and maintain records related to financial statements

Prepare and analyze Profit & Loss Statements and Balance Sheet

Maintain accurate Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable records and process corresponding transactions

Process payroll in a timely manner and make entries for payroll and tax payments Post year-end journal entries

Oversee bookkeeping staff for accuracy and ensure that all client and reporting deadlines at met

Ability to prepare individual and/or corporate tax returns a plus

Requirements:

Ability to troubleshoot & problem solve day to day accounting issues for multiple clients on a daily basis

Prior experience at an accounting firm or experience with multiple accounts, bank accounts and clients preferred

Proficient at calculating and processing sales & use tax payments and quarterly payroll reports for NY and NJ Proven bookkeeping experience

Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles

Must be able to prepare Year-End journal entries and reclassifications

Strong supervisory skills and take-charge mentality

Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software

Proficiency in QuickBooks and Office 365 Experience with tax preparation software, preferably ProSeries

Customer service oriented High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
