Overview.ResponsibilitiesJob Summary/Basic Function : The Manager, Visual Product Engineering will be responsible for managing a team of product engineers who are responsible for proactively managing the technical relationship between the sales company and the factory to align products and solutions and supervising the Visual Product Engineering team. You will also be required to develop a long-term relationship with the factory, 3rd parties, & Panasonic’s customers (Reseller Channel & End Users) to ensure success and realize the full value of Panasonic’s products, services, and solutions.As the Manager, Visual Engineering you will collaborate with the Product Management and Sales teams to ensure your team is aligned with Panasonic Connect’s goals & objectives. The Visual Product Engineering team focuses on the following core areas: product and solution development, product demonstrations, product operational training, product user guides, product evaluations, advanced technical support/problem resolution, consulting support, sales engineering support, customer satisfaction as well as quality management.Administrative and Management Responsibilities

Receiving updates from team members and provide guidance on priorities or work and asset allocation.

Complete trip reports and after-action reviews, streamline and continuously improve the process for the completion and use of your team’s trip reports.

Support product managers in compiling, reviewing and distributing competitive analysis performed by team.

Support product managers in implementing and seeking continuous improvement on Voice of Customer (VOC) reporting.

Track and supervise the progress on Issue reporting that is escalated to your team from various stakeholders, ensuring items are properly addressed/resolved.

Supervise and actively participate in the creation of Product Setup Guides and other technical documents as required by the business unit.

Provide administrative support with the execution of all training programs, including planning, designing, and conducting technical training sessions on Visual Products for both internal and external members to enhance their skills and knowledge

Lead the creation of visual solutions and drive proposals to customers, collaborating closely with Japanese Solution SE teams.

Engineering & Product Testing

Along with your team members, conduct product evaluations to include the completion and review of written reports and ensure distribution to relevant stakeholders.

Test and submit reports on engineering samples from the factory.

Assist in the development of solutions for combinations of Panasonic and 3rd party products.

Test, evaluate and submit reports on relevant software, Panasonic & 3rd party.

Field & Remote Support Supervision and Performance

Collaborate with the Product Managers, Marketing & Sales team to support trade shows and events – specifically serve as the liaison to the Visual Engineering team for the preparation, deployment, set-up, tear down for Infocomm show and Higher education or R&S summit events

Collaborate with the Service & Sales Engineering teams to provide on-site support when issues are escalated.

Perform and/or allocate resources to perform technical remote support for sales demonstrations.

Perform and/or allocate resources to perform technical remote support for customers/end users when requested.

Perform and/or allocate resources to perform remote customer training.

Assist in the set up and/or assign resources as needed for the execution of on-site sales demos.

Assist in the set up and/or assign resources as needed to perform on-site customer training.

Product Roadmap creation support with Product managers

Engage closely with various product factories to provide feedback and guidance on product roadmaps, specifying precise and desired functional requirements for new products in close collaboration with Product Management.

Consolidate feedback from stakeholders (Sales Engineering teams, Sales teams, and Service teams ) to offer input on the product roadmap.

Basic QualificationsScope

This role will include supervising direct reports and additional indirect reports. This role will report to the Director of Visual Product Management Group

Education and Experience

B.S. degree in at least one of the following areas: Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, AV Engineering or Broadcast or equivalent experience

5+ Years of experience in technical interface with resellers and end-users on A/V hardware, software, and/or entitlement services

Proactive thinker who takes a systematic approach to solving problems to ensure customer satisfaction and achieving company goals.

3+ years of Leadership/Management experience is preferred.

Key Competencies

Must be self-driven and motivated, while there are some processes and procedures in place, the ideal candidate will proactively look for areas to improve and drive continuous improvement.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Skilled presenter who is comfortable with presenting one-on-one or to large audiences.

Effectively and professionally communicate with internal departments (sales, service, product management, engineering & executive management).

Knowledge of projector, display, and/or LED product knowledge and industry experience

Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Apple Mac OS and Linux

Other Requirements:

Ability to work variable hours (including some weekends) due to business travel, customer availability and trade show involvement.

Ability to have meetings at odd hours to accommodate communication with overseas team members.

Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40lbs.

Ability to travel domestically 40%

Ability to travel overseas.

What We Offer:The salary range of $142,000 –$175,000 is just one component of Panasonic’s total package. Actual compensation varies depending on the individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives.
