Unilever is looking for an experienced Corporate & Commercial transactions lawyer to join its North America legal team in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey . Who You Are and What You'll Do Reporting to the General Counsel of North America, the Senior Counsel, Corporate & Commercial Transactions, will partner with a dynamic group of legal colleagues across our business units and global corporate center. As the lead for the US market, this attorney will manage a broad range of corporate, commercial and real estate matters providing legal advice and transactional support to Customer Development, Procurement, Operations and Data & Analytics teams.

Draft, review and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts including service, supply, manufacturing, equipment finance, leases, consulting, construction, warehouse, distribution, vendor and sales agreements; digital and physical couponing and promotions, data purchase/license and related SaaS vehicles for data analytics ;

Work cross-functionally on projects throughout the procurement and operations organization, providing sound guidance and negotiating commercial deals as needed to meet critical business objectives;

Manage real estate transaction processes (acquisitions, dispositions) from inception to closing, including drafting and negotiation of transaction documents, legal due diligence, and management of outside counsel, as necessary;

Support the asset management team with lease administration, lease amendments and extensions;

Provide accurate, reasoned, and concise legal advice to business teams without undue reliance on outside counsel;

Work with functional partners and other legal team members in developing, improving, and implementing contracting guidelines, processes, and business training;

Stay abreast of relevant and emerging trends in the law.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.

Admission in good standing to practice law in at least one U.S. state, and eligible to practice as in-house counsel in the State of New Jersey

6+ years of general corporate and transactional experience acquired in a law firm, with some in-house experience preferred.

Experience with Licensing & Sponsorship a plus

In-house experience in the CPG Industry a plus

Strong work ethic and “hands on” mentality, take ownership of work product

Strong oral communication, interpersonal, drafting and negotiation skills

Excellent business judgment and ability to assess legal risk while also thinking strategically and providing practical, business-oriented advice.

Pay: The pay range for this position is $138,900 to $208,300. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.Benefits: Unilever employees are eligible to participate in our benefits plan.
