Essential Functions/Summary
· Performs scheduled maintenance, safety inspections and repairs to varying types of equipment.
· Proficiency with the use of hand and power tools.
· Perform daily inspections of all Facilities-related systems, equipment and physical structure located throughout the property including interior, interior platforms, exterior and roof locations. Report problems immediately.
· Records data and keeps logs of operation, maintenance, and safety activity
· Be accountable for vital checks, daily data collection, meter reading, inspections and adjustments to ensure safe and efficient operation. Communicate status of equipment, alarms and facility conditions.
· Operate, monitor and visually inspect Facilities-related building systems and equipment.
· Communicate each day’s activities and problems that occur using approved communication standard to facilitate communication across shifts.
· Complete routine and preventative maintenance on Facilities-related building systems equipment including but not limited to air handlers, rooftop units, exhaust fans, pumps, Change air and water filters.
· Display basic knowledge of the following categories: electrical, plumbing, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment and general building. Capable of executing minor repairs such as replacing light bulbs, drywall repair, flushometer adjustments, faucet replacements, unclog fixtures, replace ceiling/floor/carpet tiles, replace/repair door hardware.
· Provide occasional support for moving furniture/cabinets, organizing of shop space and snow/ice management.
· Use a variety of computerized systems and software tools to complete tasks and manage work orders.
· Ability to understand drawings and service manuals for all serviced equipment.
· Coordinate work with external contractors for repairs and installation.
· Respond immediately to emergency situations (fire, evacuation, equipment failure, etc.) Have ability to contain and summon additional assistance if needed.
· Comply with all company regulations governing safety and environmental compliance. Participate in recurring safety training. Must be able to complete training in forklift operation, lock out tag out, SDS, ladder safety, emergency evacuation and in-house OSHA training.
· Must be capable of working independently and in teams for larger projects. Must have excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate several activities at once. Must possess strong troubleshooting skills.
· Maintain friendly, efficient, positive customer service demeanor toward customers and co-workers at all levels of the organization.
· Other duties as assigned including some overtime, after hours and emergency call-in work.
Physical Demands
To successfully perform the functions of this job, the ability to meet the following physical demands is required.
· Work indoors/outdoors in a variety of temperatures and environmental conditions
· Extensive walking; sit for less than 2 hours in an 8-hour day
· Stand or walk up to 2 hours at one time
· Lift or carry up to 35 lbs. frequently, up to 50 lbs. occasionally; Lift or carry over 50 lbs. with mechanical or other assistance
· Climb stairs and ladders; ability to work at heights including ladders, scaffolds and high roofs; ability to maintain balance
· Frequently bend, kneel, squat, crawl, lift and reach overhead, push, pull
· Work in small, cramped spaces, around moving machinery and in confined spaces containing high levels of noise, dust and odors.
· Operate heavy equipment – forklift, man-lift, scissor-lift
Education/Experience
High School Diploma required.
Minimum of 4-6 years’ experience in manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment required.
