The Engineer’s main function would be to ensure that the power systems in the waste to energy business line are operated and maintained in a stable and safe way with the local teams. The role will include but is not limited to;●     Providing technical advice to the management and operations team(s).
●     Liaising with vendors, operations and maintenance teams to plan power systems maintenance.
●     High voltage maintenance shutdown planning.
●     Coordinating testing.
●     Some post commissioning fine-tuning of settings as appropriate.
●     Updating maintenance procedures, and preparing new procedures as required.The generator fleet comprises of:●     Two GE 11kV steam turbo-generators,
●     One 11kv emergency diesel generator,
●     One Triveni steam turbo-generator, and,
●     Three MWM CHP generators.This role requires knowledge of complex control and protection schemes which will need to be maintained and operated by a suitably qualified and experienced candidate.The role will require the engineer to respond to breakdowns / faults, investigate and determine whether it is safe to re-energize the plant and equipment, then coordinate restoration of the power system assets.The engineer will need to be deeply involved in the maintenance of power system assets;The applicant will also liaise professionally with CLP (the grid company) and operations teams to ensure that the power system is operating within the limits of the supply agreement(s).The position would suit an experienced engineer with strong experience in power systems or a protection engineer with at least 5+ (preferably 10) years of experience with high voltage systems including high voltage power generation.
