Corporate Counsel – Advice and External Dispute Resolution

TAL’s Legal team partners with people across the business and external counsel, external partners, regulators, and industry bodies to ensure TAL meets its regulatory and legal obligations. We have a permanent opportunity available to join our Litigation and External Disputes Resolution team as Corporate Counsel.This is an ideal role to broaden and grow your financial services experience in a flexible work environment. You will enjoy being part of a supportive and collaborative in-house legal team, working for one of Australia’s leading life insurers.In this role you will: Manage external disputes lodged with the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) and other external complaints bodiesManage litigated matters through external lawyersProvide advice and support primarily to the claims and underwriting teams and other business units as requiredDeliver training to the claims and underwriting teamsProvide advice and support to risk and compliance in relation to the Life Insurance Code of PracticeOffer advice and support to the Internal Dispute Resolution teamSupport our broader legal team in reviewing product documentation and other commercial documents
