Granite State Ringers (GSR), an auditioned community handbell choir based in Concord, New Hampshire, seeks part-time business manager to assist with supporting day-to-day operations. Our performance season generally extends from late August through mid-June with auditions and fun rings occurring during the summer.
The Business Manager reports to the President of the Board and works in close collaboration with the Music Director and the rest of the Board of Directors. Work other than occasional specific on-site activities in our Concord, NH studio is remote. Access to computer, internet, printer, and other home office equipment is required (not provided).
The Business Manager should be personable and collaborative, extremely well organized, highly attentive to detail, able to plan tasks thoroughly from start to finish, able to meet deadlines, and able to anticipate potential setbacks and find appropriate and creative solutions.
Responsibilities
Manage the master schedule, including rehearsal, concert, and event (i.e., auditions, open houses, fun rings) logistics and timeline development ensuring clear communication and processes are being followed within GSR
Manage overall communication flow within GSR and between GSR and the public, including venues and media
Manage venue contracts
Manage the promotion of GSR brand and mission
Identify and obtain grants in collaboration with VP Fundraising
Collaborate with Treasurer on financials
Attend regularly scheduled board meetings and annual business meeting (generally onsite in Concord)
Qualifications
Ability to work as a team player
Effective oral and written communication and time management skills
Experience with word processing and spreadsheet computer software, as well as virtual meeting platforms
Background in non-profit grant funding strongly preferred
Background in performing arts business management desired

GSR was founded as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in February 2007 with a vision of offering committed handbell musicians the opportunity to learn and perform challenging music for audiences all over New Hampshire. GSR has since expanded its mission to include offering educational programs for youth and adults and using its talents to support local and international
groups in need.
