Senior Engineering Manager - Ports & Marine

AECOM is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to join our Ports and Marine team who is excited by the prospect of leading design teams from concept planning through design development and construction phases services on a wide range of waterfront infrastructure projects across our East Region Marine group which is based out of New York City, NY.  In this role, it is envisioned that you will work on domestic and international design-build, progressive design-build and design-bid-build projects.  The Senior Engineering Manager will be the Technical Lead of maritime/waterfront design projects that are anticipated to include ports and harbors, container terminals, offshore wind terminals and turbine foundations, coastal resiliency and industrial parcel redevelopment opportunities.The Marine Senior Engineering Manager has the following responsibilities (but not limited to):Supports, oversees and coordinates engineering & design production activities for an operating unit with a specific focus on alternative delivery projects including design-build and progressive design-build.Generates assessments, makes recommendations and implements decisions that are recognized as authoritative. Initiates and maintains contact with senior-level management within the company and is skilled in design development, contract document preparation, compliance with budget and schedule requirements, effective communication with construction teams and understands the need for timely resolution of critical issues for on-site construction to be successful. At this level, the individual will have demonstrated understanding of project delivery requirements, creativity, foresight, ability to work with and lead a multi-disciplinary design team and can comprehend and convey client objectives, develop designs that respond to project goals and deliver high quality technical excellence. Demonstrates mature judgment in anticipating and solving both routine and unusual technical problems, determining operational objectives and requirements, organizing programs and projects, and developing standards and guidelines for diverse engineering activities. Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.
