Description We are looking for a meticulous Staff Accountant to join our team in Manchester, New Hampshire. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for handling both our Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), conducting bank reconciliations, and maintaining our general ledger. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity. Responsibilities: Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes Handle the processing of all invoices received for payment in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner Manage the production of monthly financial statements, including the month-end close process Conduct regular ledger entries and reconciliations Perform bank reconciliations and conduct account research and analysis Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports and assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/quarterly/yearly closings Assist with the preparation and coordination of the audit process Utilize QuickBooks to track and resolve accounting problems on a timely basis. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is mandatory Proven experience in a similar role, such as Staff Accountant Proficiency in using accounting software, particularly QuickBooks Demonstrable skills in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Hands-on experience with bank reconciliations and general ledger Ability to prepare journal entries and handle month-end close procedures Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail Good problem-solving and time management skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information responsibly Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Ability to work independently and as part of a team CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
