Responsibilities:
Work closely with the estimators/project managers to coordinate the bid process for vendors and subcontractors
Estimate time, labor, construction materials, and product costs to determine overall cost for construction projects
Analyze blueprints, proposals, specifications, and construction documents to understand the project as a whole
Inquire with clients regarding the status of submitted proposal and budgets
Working and understanding of various stages of drawings and concepts for the project
Creative and thoughtful planning for project logistics
Ability to ensure accurate and comparative Subcontractor pricing and scope
Ensuring that estimates are completed on time and accurately
Obtain all bid documents to submit for review
Interpret blueprints, specs, and addendums to prepare quantity take-offs, cost, materials, and labor estimates
Submit requests for information to the client for any discrepancies or missing information in the bid documents
Submit complete and reviewed bids by deadlines
Maintain accurate, complete, and updated project plans, specifications, correspondence, and estimating
documentation on projects, subcontractors, and suppliers
Soliciting and evaluating subcontractor pricing information
Cost Analysis, construction means and methods, value engineering, and project scheduling
Solid take-off, planning, and logistics
Qualifications:
Knowledge of data and risk analysis, research methodology, accounting, and estimation metrics is needed
Requires critical thinking, analytical skills, and strong math skills
Experience in the construction industry - project estimating or construction management is needed
Good written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
Must know Microsoft Office products including Word, (strong) Excel, PowerPoint
Preferred experience in estimating software similar to Planswift, Agtek, Sage and/or Carlson
Must be self-motivated & punctual
Must be able to manage multiple tasks and have excellent follow-up skills both internally and externally
