Temple Sinai is a Reform Jewish synagogue located in the family-friendly community of Summerlin, west of Las Vegas. It is the spiritual home to roughly 400 families. Temple Sinai is a dynamic congregation with an extensive variety of services and programs to meet the interests and needs of our members. We come together to pray, to study, and to create and foster a warm sense of community.
We are seeking a friendly “people-oriented” individual to serve as an Administrative Assistant for the office, serving as front desk receptionist and assisting our Clergy and our Religious School Director. Our Religious School conducts classes on Sunday mornings and Wednesday afternoons and serves approximately 70 children.
Principal Responsibilities and Duties
General Administrative Duties:
Greet visitors at the front desk upon their arrival
Answer and direct all office phone calls from front desk
Screen all visitors before allowing them to enter the facility using our video doorbell system
Prepare mailings for multiple departments, including creating thank you cards for donations, mail merges, printing, and stuffing envelopes
Assist with walk-in membership inquiries
Assist with event setup and takedown
Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Executive Director, Clergy, and Director of Education
Clergy and Religious School Duties:
Assist Director of Education with the following needs, including:
o Coordinate and supervise the school’s attendance and facility operations, working in cooperation with the Director of Education, Executive Director, and faculty
o Prepare materials needed by teaching staff, such as copies and art supplies
o Assist in monitoring student movement to ensure a safe and orderly environment
o Communicate with parents of and supervise students who are sent to the office because of discipline issues as directed by Director of Education
o Assist in the coordination of school-sponsored events and activities as assigned (generally on Wednesday nights or Sunday afternoons)
o Assist with other projects as requested
Assist Clergy (Rabbi and Cantor) with day-to-day administrative needs, including:
o Prepare materials for meetings and religious services
o Coordinate confidential list of people who are ill
o Coordinate list of those who have died recently or in years past
o Coordinate communications for lifecycle events, including birthdays, anniversaries, and notifications of memorial prayers
Qualifications

Hours and Compensation:
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week
Compensation commensurate with experience
