About the Role:
(Full time or part time)
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated caregiver to provide comprehensive care for an 85-year-old male with Parkinson's disease. The ideal candidate will have experience in senior care, particularly with individuals with Parkinson's, and be able to assist with daily living activities, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and engaging environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with personal care tasks such as toileting and bathing.
- Support daily living activities, including dressing and grooming.
- Prepare light meals and ensure proper nutrition, considering dietary needs.
- Perform light housekeeping to maintain cleanliness in the client's personal space and his laundry.
- Run errands including grocery shopping, medication pick-ups, some medical appointments and other necessities.
- Accompany the client to community activities such as visits to the community center, swimming classes, and walking sessions.
- Provide companionship and engage in activities that promote physical and mental well-being.
- Monitor and manage symptoms of Parkinson's, ensuring safety and comfort.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in senior care, particularly with individuals with Parkinson's disease.
- Patience, empathy, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting and assisting with mobility.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is a plus.
- Flexibility in working hours.
