Nelnet Business Solutions, Inc. d/b/a Nelnet Business Services seeks multiple Senior Software Engineers in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Responsibilities: Responsible for designing, creating, maintaining, auditing, and improving software applications by performing coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting throughout the application development process; Researching, designing, implementing and managing software applications based on user requirements; Writing, testing and implementing efficient code; Maintaining and developing existing applications by analyzing and identifying areas for modification; Working within an Agile environment, responding to change quickly, including re-focusing development efforts and adapting to evolving requirements; Providing guidance to other engineers; Other duties as assigned. Employee may be stationed anywhere in the continental United States but will report directly to Nelnet headquarters in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Education: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or foreign equivalent).
Requirements: Two years of experience in the job offered or related. Other special requirements include: Two years of experience working with C#, Ruby, Python, or similar programming languages; Two years of experience working with MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL, or similar data management systems; Two years of experience working with client/server architectures and application architectures; and Two years of experience working with distributed codebases on cross-functional teams.
In lieu of a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field (or foreign equivalent) and two years of experience in the job offered or related position, employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field plus five years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related position.
