We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Litigation Paralegal to join a dynamic defense firm. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the litigation attorneys across various commercial cases. This position involves working on cases from inception through trial, including preparation for several upcoming trials this year. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and can flexibly assist in different aspects of litigation as needed.Responsibilities:Case Management:Work closely with litigation attorneys to manage and organize case files.Assist in drafting, editing, and filing legal documents, including pleadings and motions.Discovery Support:Coordinate and manage the discovery process, including document collection, review, and production.Assist in preparing responses to discovery requests and subpoenas.Trial Preparation:Assist in trial preparation, including the organization of exhibits, witness materials, and trial notebooks.Coordinate logistics for trial attendance, including scheduling, travel arrangements, and document preparation.Legal Research:Conduct legal research on case-specific issues and provide summarized findings to attorneys.Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and legal trends.Client Interaction:Communicate with clients to gather information and provide case updates.Coordinate meetings, depositions, and other client-related activities.Flexibility and Collaboration:Adapt to the needs of different litigation attorneys and work on a variety of commercial cases.Collaborate with other paralegals and legal support staff to ensure seamless workflow.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certification.Previous experience in commercial litigation, preferably in a defense firm.Strong organizational and multitasking skills.Proficient in legal research and document management.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Detail-oriented and able to manage deadlines effectively.Proficient in legal case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.Benefits:Competitive salaryHealth and dental insuranceRetirement savings planProfessional development opportunitiesAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard torace, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.We consider all qualified applicants, including those with criminal histories, in a manner consistent with state and local laws, including the City of Los Angeles' Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance.
