Appointment Type Full Time Regular Exempt/Non-Exempt Non-Exempt General Function The Community Focus Data Manager creates and manages data on a digital dashboard to support the functions of the Community Focus project. The Community Focus Data Manager manages, designs, develops, implements, and incorporates statistical research applications and strategies to provide “real time” data access to decision-makers. The Community Focus Data Manager collaborates with multiple stakeholders to collect and organize quality data from multiple sources. The Community Focus Data Manager provides analysis and data visualization to support a nuanced understanding of issues, inform decisions, and track progress toward shared priorities.Description of Primary Duties
Works with the OPHI team and external partners to identify and import aggregate data from various sources into a data warehouse.
Works with the OPHI team to develop and steward external relationships to expand partnerships.
Produces research and data analysis on a range of topics as directed.
Conducts data standardization and statistical analysis.
Works with the OPHI team and external partners to develop a data dashboard, reports, and data visualization.
Works with the OPHI team to communicate research findings in a way that is accessible to a variety of audiences.
Performs data backups to ensure business continuity.
Maintains an understanding of relevant security policies and external regulations and assists in ensuring that these policies and regulations are followed within the program.
Applies basic business process principles and uses effective interpersonal communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills to complete assigned tasks.
Contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of respect for and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
Remains competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development courses, and attending raining and/or courses as directed by the supervisor.
Contributes to the overall success of the program by performing all other essential duties and responsibilities.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
Education: A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, statistics, data management, or a related field is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered for substitution of educational requirements.
Experience: At least two years of experience in database development, data management, warehousing, and/or business intelligence development is required. Experience with SPSS , R or SAS is required. Experience with Geographical Information Systems ( GIS ) is preferred. Proficiency with data visualization and reporting software is preferred.
Skills: Strong technical aptitude is required. Must be able to work independently, manage multiple concurrent tasks, and work with people possessing differing levels of technical knowledge. Must be detail oriented and committed to ensuring accuracy and quality. The ability to analyze, interpret, and organize large amounts of data is required. Proficiency with data dashboards, standardization, and statistical analysis is required. The ability to communicate findings to multiple audiences using non-technical terms is required. The ability to effectively respond to the needs of customers is required. An understanding of the influence of environmental drivers on health and a strong desire to use data skills for community improvement is preferred.
Other: This position is grant funded. Continuation of this position is contingent upon available grant or contract funding. The scope of this job requires some travel and occasional attendance at evening meetings and/or events.
