Work Location Springfield Campus Department Library Hiring Range $12.30 Department/Employer Operating Hours Monday through Friday 8am - 5pm How many hours per week are required? 10-15 Description of Primary Duties Meyer Library’s Access Services Department seeks an out-going and detail-oriented student employee for Campus Delivery and Interlibrary Loan. Library Information Student Assistants are pivotal in providing customer service as they welcome a diverse community of users and connect them to Library services and resources. Duties will include utilizing the Bearline Shuttle system to lift, carry, deliver, and retrieve items to/from Academic Departments, as well as using specialized software (Tipasa), packaging/opening mail, assisting with lending materials to other libraries (Interlibrary Loan), and helping with stacks maintenance.Required Qualifications 10-15 hours total per week. Wednesday and Thursday are required for at least 2 consecutive hours between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., not including the 12 p.m. hour. Monday, Tuesday, and Friday hours are negotiable.Required Certifications Additional Qualifications Library Information Student Assistants must have excellent customer service and communication skills, the ability to work independently, as well as flexibility and dependability. This job requires attention to detail, long periods of time standing and walking long distances in all kinds of weather, and the ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
