Amentum is looking for a Logistics Manager to join our team at the Springfield, VA location. The Logistics Manager provides leadership and direction for the Logistics Department of the BOS-E program located in Springfield Va. The Department consists of material storage and distribution, property and asset control, mail services, fleet, shuttle bus and taxi services.Responsibilities:
Ensure the successful operation for all aspects of the Logistics Dept. with responsibility for the following tasks:
Personnel Management: With direct oversight of approximately 50 personnel, the manger is responsible for all administrative tasks such as recruiting, performance evaluations, mentoring, tasking and timecards.
Warehouse Operations: Ensure materials are received, stored, and delivered in accordance with customer policies and procedures. Become familiar with customers to ensure superior customer service is provided by the warehouse team.
Classified Destruct: Ensure materials are collected from pick up locations and delivered to the destruct machine and then destroyed in compliance with government regulations. Manage the maintenance and repairs to the destruction equipment. Ensure personnel operating the equipment utilize assigned safety equipment. Coordinate recycling program for destroyed material.
Property and Asset management: Provide oversight to the property team. Track metrics to ensure all accountable property is tagged and accounted for per regulations.
Fleet management: Provide oversight of the BOS-E fleet, which consists of leased vehicles, material handling equipment and GSA buses and cars. Approximately 100 total assets.
Taxi services: Manage three drivers and coordinate with customers, ensuring rides are available per customer provided priority system.
Mail Handling services: Provide oversight of mail receiving, inspection and distribution.
Support program management developing data driven reports. Develop new business concepts and prepare proposals for submission to the customer.
Minimum Qualifications
10 years of experience in one or more of the following: logistics services, material management, transportation, material handling, inventory control, supply chain management, mail, and courier services.
Must be familiar with current systems/ methodology. Excellent analytical and communication skills.
Must be able to acquire and maintain a Security Clearance.
Work EnvironmentTypical warehouse and material handling hazards to include forklift and other material handling equipment.
