The primary responsibilities of the Sales Associate are answering the phone, providing price and delivery in accordance with customer requests and ensuring compliance to OEM and distributor agreements. The Sales Associate will provide accurate bids and process customer Purchase Orders in adherence to exacting delivery instructions. The Sales Associate reports to the VP of Operations and is expected to efficiently conduct all duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities
Answering Sales calls and providing exceptional customer service to new and existing customers
Responsible for communicating with customers to provide pricing, status and update for their quotes and purchase orders
Completing all necessary documentation and legal formalities including ITAR relating to the goods are in accordance with export regulations and compliant with distributor agreements for customer Purchase Orders
Assisting in making cold calls as needed
Review reports for sales to monitor on-time delivery status for their customers
Working closely with the VP of Operations to obtain expedited delivery from the manufacturer or receive updated delivery as needed from the manufacturer
Request pricing as needed from vendors/suppliers
Skills and Specifications
Experience and knowledge in hydraulic fittings, precision hardware and production preferred
Experience in costing, estimation and Government bidding preferred
Ability to take direction, meet targets and work efficiently under a supervising authority
Must be detail oriented and have strong computer and math skills
A motivated worker who can handle delegated tasks autonomously
Should have strong interpersonal and communication skills and be able to communicate with customers and suppliers professionally, both written and verbal
Education and Qualifications
High school diploma or a GED
Experience of 3+ years in sales with Aerospace requirements preferred. Must be able to coordinate and participate in team meetings to complete tasks. Team members may be located in more than one location. Must be able to use telephone conferencing, e-mail, shared computer files and other information and communication tools. Must be able to lead Team in decision making processes when necessary
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to work in a participative team-oriented environment, work with customers (internal and external), suppliers, and others in a professional manner
Must have the ability to work in a dynamic time and deadline sensitive environment with multiple priorities
Physical Demands:
The employee must be able to sit for extended period of time with periodic breaks. Employee may frequently stand, stoop and/or walk and lift and /or move up to 40 pounds. Employee must have the ability to remain calm under pressure and stress.
Work Environment:
The employee will normally work in an office and shop environment. The noise level in the work environment ranges from quiet to moderate.
