Perry and Trent, L.L.C. is a long-established three attorney firm in Bonner Springs, Kansas. We are seeking an experienced attorney or recent graduate to assist in the implementation of a new office of indigent defense services for a Kansas City metropolitan Municipal Court, and to provide municipal prosecution services for a different local municipality. These duties will provide quick exposure and experienced supervision for an attorney interested in either criminal/traffic defense or prosecution. Much of the balance of the time will be devoted to civil litigation, including domestic relations and probate, giving the successful candidate a wide exposure to civil and criminal trial practice. Finally, the position will provide support for transactional services such as estate planning, business formation, and real estate.
The position requires excellent research and writing skills, the ability to communicate well with a very diverse clientele, and the ability to work well independently, and collaboratively. The nature of the position requires an ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances, and a strong attention to detail. Our goal as a firm is to provide the care and attention needed for each individual client, so strong interpersonal skills are essential.
Spanish language skills will be very helpful for this position, but are not required.
