CSD proudly provides Montana State University students with not only a repertoire of various cuisines, cooking styles, and flavors, but a comfortable atmosphere to meet friends, study, and simply relax. The division is comprised of 2 residential dining halls, a commissary kitchen, 4 coffee shops and the Union Market retail operation, Brick Breeden Fieldhouse and Bobcat Stadium Concessions, Fork in the Road food truck, MSU Catering, Indulge In-House Bakery, and the Farm to Campus Program.Duties and Responsibilities The Floor Supervisor (Culinary Services Supervisor II) is a working supervisory position in the front of house/auxiliary areas/coffee shops (floor service, cashiering, beverages, pots/pans, dishroom and storeroom) for our various areas.

Positively and professionally interacts with customers.

Ensures inventory control (front of house), portioning/waste control, proper food preparation/presentation, and quality service is being provided. Coordinates with management and chef team as needed.

Works with the management team to supervise and train permanent and temporary staff.

Monitors service and dining areas for cleanliness.

Directs staff in the cleaning of areas and equipment in accordance with the sanitarians recommendations.

Responsible to ensure areas are running efficiently and timely.

Assists with ensuring compliance with sanitation guidelines and food/beverage handling and storage FDA codes and as directed by MSU’s Registered Sanitarian.

Actively works in all areas as needed.

Performs other general kitchen duties.

And actively contributes to the team by performing other duties as needed in support of the department’s mission.

Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

Progressive experience working in food service or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Experience leading, directing, and/or training staff.

Experience providing excellent customer service.

Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

Experience with inventory control.

Work effectively and efficiently in close cooperation with CS staff in a team-oriented environment with the ultimate goal of providing excellent customer service

Full time and part time. All full-time positions are eligible for full benefits 12 months of the year.

Shifts vary across departments, 7 days per week from 5:30am-Midnight.

May be asked to work days/evenings, weekends, long hours, consecutive days during busy periods, and occasional holidays as the school and event schedule demands.

Occasional work outside and in inclement weather assisting with special events.

Possess an 4-hour sanitation certification or have the ability to become certified

Must have the ability to understand and communicate in English with adequate proficiency to follow directions from supervisor, read and understand safety guidelines and directions to prevent accidents or injuries from occurring, and communicate effectively with customers (staff, visitors, students) by listening and speaking clearly to them.
