The position will provide support to the Executive Director of the Clemency Review Commission in carrying out the administrative functions of the Minnesota Board of Pardons and Clemency Review Commission including processing, screening, investigating, and summarizing applications for pardons, and commutations.Minimum QualificationsTo be qualified for and considered for this position, applicants must meet all of the minimum qualifications listed below. Ensure that your resume contains descriptions of your work experiences sufficient for comparison against the requirements stated below and indicate the beginning and ending month and year for each job held.Two (2) years of experience analyzing and synthesizing complex factual information into written reports, legal documents, or other memoranda.Note: A bachelor's degree in legal studies, criminal justice, or related may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.

Knowledge of criminal law, criminal sentencing, and associated legal terminology.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat Pro.

Strong communication skills sufficient to compose correspondence and reports, and to communicate effectively with coworkers, Board members, court personnel, and the public.

Ability to act independently and effectively organize, prioritize, and complete multiple projects under time constraints.

Preferred QualificationsThe following qualifications are strongly desired of applicants seeking consideration for this position:

Advanced degree in legal studies, criminal justice, or related field.

Four (4) or more years of experience analyzing and synthetizing complex factual information into written reports, legal documents, or other memoranda.

Knowledge of Minnesota criminal and sentencing laws.

Experience applying statutes or administrative rules to specific factual circumstances.

Experience finding court records and legal opinions.

Experience working for federal, state, or municipal government.

Experience working as a judicial law clerk or staff attorney.
