Acara has partnered with our client to find a Machinist-Vertical Mill in Osakis, MN.
Machinist Responsibilities:
You will perform complex setups and operate the mill, lathe, and or router to machine flat and formed parts to an inch and metric specifications
Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining.
Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.
Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
Verifies conformance of finished workpieces to specifications using various measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and depth micrometers. Familiarity with CMM, GD&T, and SPC.
Set up and operate the machine on a trial run to verify the accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
5-axis knowledge
Emphasis on new part introduction and one-offs
Strong troubleshooting and technical knowledge
Strong readthrough skills on CNC programs
Ability to manufacture parts from print
Detail oriented
Parts can have more than 150 dimensions
316 steel and C-22 materials
Complete the necessary paperwork and computer entry steps
Here's what you'll get:
Pay Rate: $25.00 - $32.00 p/hr. depending on experience
Duration: Contract
Shift: 2nd (M-Thurs) 4:00 pm-2:00 am + 10 % differential
Wk-end Shift (Fri-Sun) 7am to 7pm + 10 % differential

Qualifications:
3+ years of manufacturing or related work experience
A.A. Degree or any combination of education and experience
Vocational or technical training or equivalent
Ability to handle fragile products, perform repetitive tasks, and demonstrate safety awareness
Solid understanding of related mechanics, flow control elements, and MRP concepts
Visual acuity and manual dexterity
Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Excellent communication skills, positive attitude, and ability to change priorities quickly
Demonstrated ability to be a strong team player
