I need independent RNs that are currently enrolled with Minnesota Health Care Programs. For RNs that are not enrolled, I will assist you. Enrolling with MHCP allows nurses to accept MA (Medicaid) payments for providing complex care to clients, in their homes.
You are paid the full amount that the state of Minnesota allows for complex care. Therefore, no benefits are provided.
Ventilator experience is preferred. However, we will train motivated candidates.
Applicants must have a valid Minnesota nursing license. Candidates must possess reliability, honesty, good health assessment and communication skills, and compassion,.
This job is to provide care for me. My condition is very stable. I am an adult man with Muscular Dystrophy and I am ventilator-dependent. I need maximum assistance with all ADLs, positioning, and transfers. I prefer to direct my care. Nurses who provide care for me have to be willing to accept direction from me.
Duties include trach suctioning, trach and g-tube care, g-tube feedings/water flushes, dressing me, patient lift assisted transfers, and to accompany me on outings like walks and other activities. I have my own transport van. My mother lives with me and has been providing care.
Day shifts are generally 9am - 9pm. Overnight shifts can be discussed.
Expect to be available four or more days per month, and at least one or two weekend days but not necessarily on the same weekend. I also need care on holidays.
