I need independent RNs that are currently enrolled with Minnesota Health Care Programs. For RNs that are not enrolled, I will assist you. Enrolling with MHCP allows nurses to accept MA (Medicaid) payments for providing complex care to clients, in their homes.
You are paid the full amount that the state of Minnesota allows for complex care. There are no benefits are provided.
Ventilator experience is preferred. However, we will train motivated candidates.
Applicants must have a valid Minnesota nursing license. Candidates must possess reliability, honesty, good health assessment and communication skills, and compassion.
This job is to provide care for me. My condition is very stable. I am an adult man with Muscular Dystrophy and I am ventilator-dependent. I need maximum assistance with all ADLs, positioning, and transfers. Nurses who provide care for me have to be willing to accept that I prefer to direct my own care.
Duties include trach suctioning, trach and g-tube care, g-tube feedings/water flushes, dressing me, patient lift assisted transfers, and to accompany me on outings like walks and other activities. I have my own transport van. My mother lives with me and has been providing care.
Shifts are 9am - 9pm and 9pm - 9am (split shifts may be possible). I am considering a 9pm - 5am shift for anyone interested in 8 hour overnights.
Expect to work four or more days every month. This will include at least one or more weekend days, but not necessarily on the same weekend. I also need care on holidays.
