Lead AI Engineer (Certification Architect)Honeywell Aerospace Technologies (AT) is seeking Lead AI Engineer (Certification Architect) candidates to drive FAA (and other aviation authorities) certification of future AI based products for safety critical aerospace systems as part of a new AI/Machine Learning Center of Excellence (COE).In this role you will be responsible for taking new AI technologies from AI Scientists and working with aviation authorities such as FAA to certify these technologies to Design Assurance Levels or other standards.Your contributions will play a central role in the design, development, and deployment of advanced AI solutions, contributing to Honeywell's commitment to safety critical aerospace systems.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Work with AI Scientists to develop roadmaps and paths to certification for AI solutions under development

Work with regulatory certification authorities such as FAA to certify new AI solutions

Assist product teams throughout Honeywell AT as they select hardware to deploy new AI solutions and upgrades to existing products

YOU MUST HAVE

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as robotics, computer science, aerospace engineering, or related field.

Minimum 5 years’ experience on software and hardware for safety critical systems (FAA Design Assurance Levels)

Deep knowledge of FAA design assurance levels and aviation safety standards

Experience with certification of complex algorithms for safety critical systems

Experience working with government regulatory agencies such as FAA

Work experience or coursework involving AI and Machine Learning

Must be a U.S. citizen due to contract restrictions

U.S. CITIZEN REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or have asylum or refugee status in the U.S.

Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Attention to detail and excellent problem-solving capability.
