CoV Edina is looking to add an experienced Sous Chef to our team. We are an East Coast style restaurant offering a true Nantucket feel to our guests. Our restaurant is an acclaimed local hotspot for all types of dining experiences. We pride ourselves on the flavor profile of coastal flares and focus on sourcing the highest quality products to create our menu items.
Our ideal candidate must have:
Exceptional flavor profile
3 years of high-volume experience
Ability to work independently and can handle multiple projects at a time
Punctual and reliable
Responsible for helping manage at least 30 kitchen employees
Food handler certification (required)
The Sous Chef’s responsibility will be to directly manage all operations for the back-of-house functionality. The day-to-day requirements will include, but are not limited to:
Assisting our Executive chef in managing food and labor costs to align with budgets - based on the best quality products
Working in conjunction with our event planning team on specialized menu items for private dining events
Communicating with the Executive chef and other Sous chefs on scheduling the appropriate staff numbers for given shifts
Assist with recruiting, hiring, and training of all kitchen staff
Excellent communication skills to interact with staff, management, and customers
Strong knowledge of restaurant industry operations, safety, and sanitation standards
Supervising and assisting with preparations, maintenance, and repairs for the kitchen
Managing inventory counts and preparing orders with current vendors
Job Type: Full-time
Salary range $55,000 - $70,000
