Opened in 1911, Cossetta’s has been known for its award-winning pizza, homemade sauces, handmade Italian sausages and welcoming staff. With our recently-completed “Alimentari” expansion of the highly successful Cossetta’s, retail market, eatery and “Eventi” Catering, as well as the introduction of our new Pasticceria and rooftop restaurant “Louis Ristorante”, we are always searching for an experienced person in the General Manager position to grow with our new expansion and exciting company.

Job Purpose:

Accountable for the general management and profitable growth of the corporation, the development and attainment of company objectives, and the execution of the corporate mission statement.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

I. Leadership

Controls, leads, and directs all Front of House and Back of House employees.

Provides clear direction; establishes performance expectations and accountability to achieve continuous improvement and increased productivity.

Leads by example, nurtures team concept, and promotes Cossetta company culture at all times.

Selects, builds and develops the Louis management team.

Defines and leads changes in direction to maximize the success of the restaurant.

Directs and controls the overall employment process to ensure the selection of the best quality work forces.

Directs and monitors the management of employee performance including evaluation, recognition and performance correction.

Coaches and ensures the development of all restaurant employees.

Demonstrates initiative and performs all activities as the business deems necessary.

II. Service/Quality

Participates in establishing production, quality and service standards.

Provides and requires from all Cossetta employees a world class level of customer service and satisfaction.

Ensures the total quality process of preparation and presentation including all food, beverage and market products.

Responds to and promptly resolves all customer concerns or issues.

Ensures the overall facility's appearance, equipment and maintenance conforms to company standards.

III. Finance/Administration

Provides primary input and participates in the development of the fiscal budget and strategic planning.

Drives the development of revenue producing/cost controlling methods and merchandising techniques.

Provides ongoing analysis of sales, labor, food costs and other operating expenses.

Leads and coordinates the planning and execution of special events and various committees (e.g. new product etc.)

Supervises and conducts physical inventory; troubleshoots discrepancies and variances.

Protects confidential Cossetta information (e.g. recipes, techniques, financial data, etc.)

IV. Operations

Instructs and directs department management in the attainment of company goals and objectives; controls, coordinates, and monitors all product and service activity.

Develops, recommends and enforces all work rules, safety regulations and company policies/procedures.

Utilizes sales/cost data analysis to make and implement strategic and tactical operational decisions.

Directs and participates in the development and implementation of the company marketing plan, (e.g. merchandizing, advertising, promotional ideas etc.)

Researches, recommends and implements innovative operational control systems and procedures (e.g. management information, reporting systems, cost reduction, etc.)

Leads product improvement and development process; participates in product evaluation, approval and implementation.

Administers and coordinates ongoing management training programs to ensure professional development; oversees and ensures all other operational employee training.

Facilitates, encourages and supports cross functional activities and efforts of the operations departments.

Oversees and ensures completion of all departmental preventative maintenance calendars.

Participates in the review and approval of vendors to ensure service/product quality and competitive pricing.

Reviews, approves and recommends adjustments to work schedules and staffing levels.

Represents and promotes a positive Cossetta, Inc. image within the community industry and professional organizations.

Ensures the integrity and security of all company property; directs corrective action as required.

V. Communication

Communicates with and reports to the President and the Executive staff regularly.

Works with management to communicate department goals and objectives in order to achieve Company mission.

Establishes and maintains frequent, timely and constructive communication with all managers, departments and employees.

Conducts and participates in management and employee meetings regularly to exchange information and improve communication.

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum five years management experience in the hospitality industry

Experience and knowledge of food costing and purchasing

Strong organizational skills

Proven performance in leadership of more than thirty people

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
