Food Production Lead

We're looking to add on additional kitchen production staff at the dumpling factory! We are a Chinese food brand specializing in frozen dumplings, soup dumplings, and wontons. I'm looking for individuals who want to work in a large-scale food prep + production setting with high levels of attention to detail.

Job Summary:

Under the close supervision of the Production Supervisor, the Food Production Lead is responsible for taking on various tasks to help support different areas of food production in the production and manufacturing area.

Role/Responsibilities:

1. Prepare ingredients to be used in dumpling and food production

2. Proper sanitization and organization of tools and equipment

3. Stand and sit for long periods while focusing on repetitive, detail-oriented tasks

4. Monitor product quality and effectively report problems

5. Adherence to Saturday Dumpling Company's standard operating procedures, regarding food safety and quality assurance

6. Operate machinery to prepare dumplings, soup dumplings, and other food items

7. Working as a team during production, and independently during prep work.

8. Varying schedule may include weekends, evenings, holidays, and other hours as business requires.

9. Other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Abilities

1. Experienced in large batch food preparation and have the associated culinary and organizational skills.

2. Ready to Learn.

3. Enthusiastic about working in a dynamic environment that will require strong adherence to procedure AND attention to detail.

4. Punctual, polite and professional.

5. Capable of working independently and taking ownership in one’s work.

6. Able to follow instruction, and finish tasks to completion.

Education and Experience:

1. Working in previous food production is a plus

2. Must be 18+ years old

3. Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is a plus

4. Certified Food Protection Manager certification is a plus

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

Working at Saturday Dumpling Company is a physically demanding job - team members will need to be on their feet throughout their shifts and will need to be able to walk, bend, twist, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, push and pull. This position is frequently required to handle, move, and lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs with accommodation.

Schedule:

1. Part-time to start, up to 30 hours/per week, with opportunity to grow into a Full-time position

2. Production Shifts: Day time 10am - 6pm

3. Overtime and weekends as assigned

Compensation:

1. Starting at $19/hr, raise after 4 weeks if your words match your skills
