Hiring for Metal Finisher ,in Anoka, MN,US Pay $19 to $25/hrJob Description:

Employees will start out working on an assembly line, learning the products that the company makes.

They will also work in grinding, where they will actually hold a hand grinder and smooth out rough edges or polish the metal to a nice finish.

They may cross train in basic fabrication, cutting sheets of metal to length, which would require the use of a tape measure.

If they have the aptitude or previous experience, they may do a little spot welding, which holds the sheet metal in place, while they do the assembly.

They may have the opportunity to cross train into MIG welding, but no employee their welds full time, so they will need to understand that rotating around the production line is the job.

Skills:general labor, Mechanical, general production, welding, sheet metal fabrication, fabrication, sheet metal, grinding, sanding, deburring, finisher, metal finishing, oil changeAdditional Skills & Qualifications:-1+ year experience working something mechanical and/or in manufacturing-Strong desire to advance one's career within fabrication and welding-Candidates could come from sheet metal fab, automotive or lube technicians, construction, concrete, former military non-climate controlled facility (hot in the summer/cold during the winter) Dirty environment (grinding dust, oil from steel, etc) Standing only positions – on their feet 8-10 hours per day Physical job – lifting, pushing, bending, and sometimes climbing (hand dexterity is important as well) Willingness to learn multiple work stations (grinding, spotwelding, assembly, etc) Blueprint reading experience preferred but not required. Willingness to learn a must. Job is repetitive – a lot of repeatable tasks taking place daily. (rotations occurring regularly but still repetitive) Attendance and punctuality is crucial.Employee Value Proposition (EVP)

They will start someone with limited experience at $19 on 1st, $21.25 on 2nd, or $21 on 3rd.

If they are doing well and have good attendance, they will get a 50 cent raise after 90 days.

When they get hired on after 6 months, many of these employees are getting raises to upwards of $21-$23/hr, plus shift differential.

If they work Sundays, and Sundays are always voluntary, and worked the previous 6 days, they will get paid double time for those hours.

Once they get hired on direct, company will pay for additional education if they want to advance in something like welding, or even engineering.
